Lastly today I have Stargazer, described as a “dazzling top coat packed with silver holographic micro flakes and iridescent micro glitter.” It is perfectly dense and really shines over ablack or dark base. Swatches | Glam Polish Heroes VS. Villains Duo | Princess Leia and Darth Vader

HVV

Hey guys! Rachel from Glam Polish recently reached out to me to guest blog and I am so excited to share this duo with you! In order to buy this Heroes Vs. Villains duo inspired by Princess Leia and Darth Vader at a discounted price you will need to join the Facebook group here, I definitely recommend it either way for the early sneak peeks of collections and real life swatches from members in the community. These will be releasing for order on March 31st and without further ado I’ll jump into the swatches!

WookieBottle-2

I’d Just As Soon Kiss A WOOKIEE! shown at 2 coats under artificial lighting.

WookieBottom-2

I’d Just As Soon Kiss A WOOKIEE! at an angle under artificial lighting.

First up is “I’d Just As Soon Kiss A WOOKIEE!” inspired by Princess Leia. This polish is described as a “white scattered holo with strong crimson shimmer, ultra holo glitter and fine holo micro glitter.” The formula on this polish, you guys! I had awesome coverage at just 1 coat but I did go in for a 2nd for all of my swatches today. It is a little on the thicker side but still incredibly user friendly, that red shimmer on the white glittery base is everything!!

DarkSideBottle

The Power Of The Dark Side shown at 3 coats under artificial lighting.

DarkSideBottom

The Power Of The Dark Side at an angle under artificial lighting.

Next up is “The Power of The Dark Side” inspired by Darth Vader. This polish is described as a “black Jelly with a mix of Iridescent flakies, rainbow holographic microglitter, shifting iridescent glitter and fine holo micro glitter.” I cannot even at all the flakies suspended in this black jelly base, I love how each one shines through! This polish did build up nicely for me in 2 coats but I did find that a 3rd deepened up the finish a bit. The Power of the Dark Side is going to be absolutely stunning matte!

GlamArtBottle

Duo nail art.

I also did some super simple nail art using these two polishes! I opted to go in for a gradient using a base of 2 coats of I’d Just As Soon Kiss A WOOKIEE! with The Power of The Dark Side lightly sponged on my tips. I did feel like the black jelly base was a bit hard for me to blend in so I used some more of the white to help blend it out.

Swatches | Neon Demon by Femme Fatale Cosmetics

neondemon

Hey guys! Today I am amped about about getting to share the new Neon Demon collection with you, releasing April 1st-5th from Femme Fatale Cosmetics! This collection consists of 7 flaky, shimmery, glittery polishes inspired by the movie of the same name. These polishes were sent to me for review, keep reading to see how they swatched!

Kissing Bottle

Kissing Reflections shown at 3 coats under artificial lighting.

KissingBottom

Kissing Reflections at an angle under artificial lighting.

First up is Kissing Reflections, a bright blue based pink with a strong blue shimmer and very fine scattered holographic glitter. The formula on this polish is awesome, I had complete coverage at 2 coats but opted for a 3rd and it did deepen the pink tone ever so slightly. I did have some light brush strokes in the shimmer but they don’t take away anything from that beautiful “glory” effect!

DefiledBottom-2

DefiledBottom

Defiled in Gold shown at an angle under artificial lighting.

Next up is one of my personal favorites! This is Defiled in Gold, a warm golden bronze shade with a ton of strong gold shimmer and scattered holographic micro glitter. This polish almost has a hint of a mauve ton right around the edges and I am in love! Completely opaque in 2 easy coats, this polish does dry down a little around those micro glitters but a good topcoat will smooth that out no problem!

HerBottle

HerBottom

Next up is Get Her Out Of Me, a blue based jelly polish with a very strong red shimmer, scattered holographic micro glitter, and red to green iridescent glitters. This is sure to be a fan favorite! Get Her Out of Me went on very smooth and easy and was right on the edge of being opaque for me in 3 coats.

Next is a surprise favorite for me, Falling Into Blue Death! I was almost sure that this was going to be preferred as a topper but this light lavender base polish filled with teal shimmer and holographic glitters built up perfectly opaque for me in 3 coats! The finish is a little textured but topcoat smooths it right out into a light shifty, rainbow giving, gorgeous finish!

GraveBottom

Next up is Grave In A rose Garden, an ethereal purple based polish with purple shimmer, multi chrome flakes, and scattered holographic glitter. This polish did build up nicely for me in 3 coats but it was just shy of being opaque. I think a 4th coat would bring it all the way there! This would also be a lovely topper over a darker color in my opinion!

EverythingBottom

It’s Everything at an angle under artificial lighting.

Next up is It’s Everything and this polish truly is! This is a bit of a deeper purple base with a very strong teal shimmer, purple multi chrome flakes, and purple micro glitters. This polish built up completely opaque in 3 easy coats, the shifty metallic micro flakes give the appearance of some texture against the base but topcoat smooths them right out!

KinbakuBottom

Kinbaku at an angle under artificial lighting.

Lastly today I have Kinbaku, a deep purple base with a very strong red shimmer, metallic multi chrome flakes, and blue glitters. The blue glitters on this base pop so strong against this palette! Kinbaku was just shy of being opaque for me in 3 coats, personally I think this polish would make a beautiful topper over a deep purple or maroon base but a 4th coat may just bring this one to full opacity!

Swatches | Grotesque Collection by Virago Varnish

Grotesque

Hey guys! Today I have a swatch and review of the Grotesque collection available from Virago Varnish! Unfortunately at this time they are mostly sold out but they will be restocking on  Monday, March 27th, at 9am PDT so if you see a polish you are in love with I definitely recommend stalking the storefront at restock time! These creme polishes have an incredibly affordable price point at $6.75 a bottle and they were sent to me for review. They are also all going to be amazing for stamping, it just doesn’t get much better than that! They all dried down to a semi-matte finish and my swatches today are shown without base coat.

This collection is inspired by those “pretty ugly colors” that can be so polarizing but what can I say, I love them all!

MonstrousBottle

Monstrous shown at 1 coat under artificial lighting.

MonstrousBottom

First up is Monstrous which is described as a “dirty berry/mauve/red creme polish with orange undertones.” This polish was easily opaque in just one coat!

Rancid

I saved my most favorite for last, this is Rancid and it is described as a “mint neon green like creme polish.” This did pull a little more neon in my pictures than it is in real life, it has some deeper green tones I think. This is going to be my go to summer shade! Easily opaque in just 1 creamy coat!

Swatches | Masura Magnetic Polishes from Polish Molish

PicMonkey Image-44

Hey guys! Today I have a swatch and review of some of the best magnetic polishes on the market! I’ll be sharing 4 of the Masura magnetic polishes that were sent to me from Polish Molish, I chose some of the colors that have that gorgeous holographic micro flake running throughout but there are definitely more shades available! These are available at a few other indie stockest if you are interested. All my swatches today are topped with Liquid Macro by SuperChic Lacquer and the magnet I used is a neodymium one from amazon but Masura also offers a magnet specifically for their polishes.

NebulaBottom-2

IMG_6392

First up is The Red Square Nebula, a deep burgundy maroon shade with a light touch of gold flakie, metallic shimmer, and scattered holographic glitter. This shade was beautifully opaque for me in 1 coat but I opted to go in for a 2nd to get a stronger cat eye magnetic effect.

Next up is Blue Stars , a deep stunning teal shade with metallic shimmer and scattered holographic micro flakes! This may have been the sheerest of the collection but it was still awesomely opaque in 1-2 coats! I did have some slight temporary skin staining with this polish but nothing a little acetone didn’t take care of you, you may want to use a stain blocking base coat here.

The last polish I have for today is Andromeda’s Nebula , a very true violet purple with metallic shimmer and scattered holographic micro flakies. When applying this polish I set my magnet pretty close to the bottle and I think it pulled the magnetic element towards the bottom. My first coat went on perfectly opaque but with a weak magnetic shift so I did a little shake shake on my bottle and went in for a second coat to get that cat eye effect.

Next I have a super quick nail art look! I used the Petla Golden Russian stamping plate and a gradient of all 4 Masura polishes over a base of Tux Polish’s Onyx. I topcoated with Liquid Macro and then went in the the magnet, I seriously could not be happier with these!

Swatches | Shu Shu Kids Polish

PicMonkey Image-43

Hey guys! Today I have a swatch and review of 6 polishes from Shu Shu Kids, these polishes and products were sent to me for review and they are available right now! These polishes are water based, non toxic, and safe for children and expectant mothers. I did find these polishes to be super creamy and they all go on so smooth! In my opinion they do have a bit of a longer dry time than typical nail polish and I do recommend a topcoat to smooth the finish out a bit. The packaging is out of this world adorable and I’ll go ahead and get into the review!

IMG_6538

Cloud In The Sky Mia at an angle under artificial lighting.

First up is Cloud In The Sky Mia, a pretty sky blue from the peel off line which retails for $10.99. This polish went on super opaque and was really easy to work with! I did two coats for my swatches and just one for my daughters, it did dry down a bit matte without topcoat so my swatches here are shown topped with Superchic Lacquer’s Liquid macro.

Next up is Enchanting Gold Amelia, a warm glitzy gold polish from the standard line that retails for $10.99. This polish had such an amazing formula and finish! I did 2 coats for our swatches here today but it made need 3 depending on application.

Light Pink Zari shown at 2-3 coats under artificial lighting.

Next is Light Pink Zari, a bestselling light pink from the peel off line that retails for $12.99. This polish had a bit of a thicker formula for me but it was completely opaque in 1-2 coats, I did have some low spots on a few nails that required that second coat.

Next up is Elegant Peach Kaylee, a smooth nude peach toned polish from the standard line that retails for $10.99. This polish was an easy 2 coater for us and I love how classy this feels on the nails! This was also the only bunny we received with a bright pink head and I think it is just adorable!

Burgundy Annabelle shown at 2 coats under artificial lighting.

Next up is Burgundy Annabelle, a crelly from the peel off line that retails for $12.99! This crelly has a pink base with white, yellow, and maybe some green matte circle glitters! This polish goes on like a dream in 2 coats and did dry down a bit deeper than it shows in the bottle. Burgundy Annabelle also dries down fairly textured so I do recommend a good topcoat. Removal was pretty typical of a standard glitter polish.

Red Scarlett shown at 1-2 coats under artificial lighting.

The last polish I have to share with you today is my favorite of the bunch, Red Scarlett from the peel off line which retails for $12.99. Red Scarlett went on incredibly smooth and opaque in 1-2 coats and I was able to wear it for a full day with just some tip wear!

IMG_6623

Shu Shu Paint Remover

We were also sent the Shu Shu acetone free nail polish remover specifically made for removing these water based polishes. I found this remover was very gentle on the nails, it has added Aloe Vera and vitamin E that nourishes as it goes on. My daughter is a nail biter and cuticle picker and it didn’t sting her at all when I did clean up or removal. I will say that using this remover is more about elbow grease and less about solvents so it did take a bit of time to remove the polish when it was completely dry. It did an amazing job at cleanup while the polish was still wet however!

IMG_6637

Pink lipstick crayon

ShuShuLippyJ

Pink lipstick crayon

We were also sent a pink lip crayon to test out! Generally I’m not a huge fan of makeup on my children but I felt good about letting my daughter wear this lippy. The packaging is adorable and easy to apply for good moisturization and just a small flush of pigment. It does have a thermal/ph element that deepens up just a bit when applied.

_

All in all I love this is a natural, eco friendly brand that is safe for children! Typical wear time for my daughter using these polishes was about a day and a half before she peel removed them and was ready for the next color. I like that I can feel better about letting her wear polishes as we try to nip her nail biting habit. Plus the packaging is just about the cutest I’ve seen! Swatches | Spring 2017 by Colores de Carol

SpringCdC

Hey guys! Today I have a swatch and review of the Spring 2017 collection available now from Colores de Carol! These were sent to me for review and will retail for $11 a piece of $80 plus shipping for the entire set. If you’d like you may use my coupon code JESSICA to save 10% off of any order! I will be showing a final angled pictures using the new Matte N’ Go topcoat from Colores de Carol as well.

LilyBottle

Lily shown at 3 coats under artificial lighting.

LilyBottom

Lily shown at an angle under artificial lighting.

First up is Lily which is described as a “white crelly base with medium dots (pink, fuchsia, purple, blue and light blue) and pastel hearts and stars.” This is one of the most adorable crelly mixes I have ever seen! The formula is on the thicker side to help keep all of the glitters nice and suspended, I did find the star and heart glitters to be a little bit hard to fish out so they may be better intended for a little bit of glitter placement. I was super pleased at how glossy this polish dried and it looks even better with a matte topcoat!

Next up is Abbey which is described as a “fuchsia pink base with multi chrome shimmer (gold/green/purple), gold dust shimmer and micro holo glitter.” This polish has a fabulous 2 coat formula and I am totally digging on all of the gold shimmer!

Next up is Ava which is described as a “salmon/pink base with multi chrome shimmer (purple/violet/reddish-gold), micro holographic flakes and multi chrome flakes (red/gold/orange).” This polish is my top pick from this entire line, it is completely unique to my collection! The bright pinkish base reminds me so much of watermelon and the multi chrome flakies look like watermelon seeds to me in this mix and I absolutely love it. It needed 3 coats for full opacity for me.

Next up is Aria which is described as a “dusty creamsicle orange base with micro holo flakes and multi chrome shimmer (purple/violet/reddish-gold.)” This is a very sweet orange sherbet shade that built up beautifully for me in 3 coats!

Next up is Amelia which is described as a “dark turquoise green with lime holo micro glitter, micro holographic flakes and gold shimmer.” This one was a 2 to 3 coater for me and it went on so smooth and easy! I had no staining either.

Next up is another one of my favorites is Mila which is described as a “light blue creme with electric blue micro flakes, a multi chrome shimmer (purple/violet/reddish-gold) iridescent color-shift (red/gold/green) glitter, micro holo flakes and light blue micro holo glitter.” There is a very delicate shimmer in this polish that has me absolutely in love, it built up very nicely in 3 coats.

The last cream today I have today is Olivia which is described as a “medium lavender creme with multi chrome shimmer (purple/blue/green), iridescent (blue/purple) micro glitter and micro holographic flakes.” This is another super easy 2-3 coater which a gorgeous delicate finish. This one did have some slight texture due to those flakies.

CameliaBottle

CameliaBottom

Last up is Camelia, described as a “holographic top coat with four different multi chrome flakes, micro holo flakes and three different sizes of iridescent color-shift glitter.” This topper is everything in the world I love all in one! I found it to be perfectly dense as a topper but I think it would be a bit hard to build it up to full opacity. The linear holographic effect is absolutely lit! I do honestly love how it looks with a matte topcoat as well, it really helps bring those multi chrome flakies to the forefront.

Swatches | Rainbow Connection UK Femme Fatale Cosmetics Exclusives

UK

Hey guys! Today I have a quick swatch and review of some Femme Fatale Cosmetics exclusive polishes for Rainbow Connection UK, these polishes will only be available on the RCUK storefront and only for a short time and they were sent to me for review. Annette promises that the US and Canada will have an opportunity to purchase these via a different storefront so stay tuned for updates!

FontBottle

Fontanne shown at 4 coats under artificial lighting.

FontBottom

Fontanne at an angle under artificial lighting.

First up is Fontanne, expected to be in stock soon! This is described as a “sheer blue sparkling topper (again can be layered for a more opaque look), packed with golden-green glass flecks, iridescent glitters and silver holo glitters.” This is quite a sheer polish but I love how dainty the effect is on the nail at 4 coats! This is also going to be a beautiful topper over teals, blues, and especially black to make the gold shimmer pop! The formula is super easy to use and dries fairly smooth!

WispBottle

Hyacinth Wisp shown at 3 coats under artificial lighting.

WispBottom

Next up is Hyacinth Wisp, this is also releasing very soon so I will update as soon as it is available! It is described as a “sky blue (cold) to clear (warm) thermal with pink shimmers, silver holo microglitters and pink shifting chrome flakes.” This polish is a bit sheer but builds up nicely in 3 coats and it does have a bit of a subtle thermal effect. I love the combination of the strong pink shimmer with the deal base along with the pink multi chrome flakes! For personal use I would put this over a white to help the opacity a bit.

LetteBottle

This next polish is Odelette and unfortunately sold out and it doesn’t look like a restock is likely. I am going to go ahead and share my swatches because this is such a lovely polish! I’ll keep my fingers crossed for a restock or be sure to keep your eye out on destashes! This polish is described as a “purple (cool) to pink (warm) thermal with green shine and silver holo micro glitters.” The thermal element in this polish is very much cold activated, my hands were running a bit warm this day but I love the subtle purple shift towards the tips.

LavernaBottle

This last polish is available right now so don’t miss out! Laverna is described as a ” pale purple-based glitter topper (although can be layered for a more opaque look) packed with silver holo glitters, red-shifting iri glitters and pink-gold shifting glass flecks.” This is intended as a glitter topper but all of my swatches today are shown at 3 coats on it’s own! I think that this polish is going to be amazing as a topper over black as well, I love the iridescent glitters in here!

FashionClubBottom

Fashion Club at an angle under artificial lighting.

First up is “Fashion Club” which is inspired by Quinn! This polish is described as a “bubblegum pink crelly full of pink and yellow glitters.” Fashion Club has a really great 2 coat formula, I did notice a little bit of texture due to the glitters but one easy coat of topcoat smooths it right out.

Next up is the polish inspired by Daria herself, this is Excuse Me and it is described as a “forest green shimmer with green and bronze glitters and green and gold flakies.” This does have a bit of a jelly base that built up perfectly for me in 3 coats, I am seriously in love with the flakie combination in this polish!

I saved my absolute favorite for last! This is Starving Artist and it is described as a “dark, vampy red full of holo, shimmer, and microflakies.” Okay, real talk y’all. You know I love a good red. You know I love a one coat polish. This one is the best of both worlds!! Seriously, if you can only pick up one polish from this collection I can’t recommend this one enough!
